Winter Park was originally designed to be a resort community at the turn of the 20th Century so you have a pretty good idea of what to expect when you move in this beautiful city just under 8 miles north of Orlando.
The name itself came from the corporation, the Winter Park Company that developed the area in the late 1800s. In 1886, the first resort in the area opened. It was named the Seminole Hotel and was built on Lake Osceola. The resort came complete with its very own bowling alley.

If you are looking for an alternative way to commute, the Amtrak and SunRail stop at Central Park to drop off and pick up passengers. Meanwhile, catching a bus will not be a problem as they pass through the I-4 going to Orlando.
What to Do in Winter Park
The heart of Winter Park is Park Avenue. The place pulsates with life during the day and night. Here you will find high-end restaurants, mom-and-pop stores, museums, and many entertainment venues.
